Behind the Scenes with Wanita Lowe & Nioka Brennan-Lowe
Wanita Lowe is a proud Dunghutti Biripi Woman also accepted in the Wiradjuri community as a state ward. Nioka Lowe-Brennan is her daughter and a proud Dunghutti Biripi Gomeroi woman.
Both work within the art community of Sydney: Wanita is a Cultural Art mentor at Eora TAFE and Nioka works for Boomalli Aboriginal Artists Co-op as a gallery assistant.
“Our design is based around the interconnections and inter-relationships we have as Aboriginal people and the responsibilities we have with kin animals, plant life and our surroundings, ensuring our survival and sustainable way of living, everything had a significant role in life in our dreaming. ” – Wanita Lowe.
